Picking up where I left off last time…

The culture of analyzing for root causes often pits us against each other and when we see mistakes, we often make the false assumption that others aren’t working as hard as we are, or that they don’t care enough or care as much as us.

I’m sure I fell into this thinking at one time but years ago, I adopted the default mindset that everyone is doing their best.

I think it’s essential to take this position, especially when you work with others, in a team setting, where cooperation and camaraderie are part of getting things done.

Today, on TikTok, I saw a video featuring the late Anthony Bourdain. At one point of his interview, he said…

“The world is filled with people doing the best they can…”

What if we all thought like this?
