There are (at least) two types of changemakers… creators and activators.
Creators come up with ideas. They imagine new products and services, more effective processes, emerging market opportunities, and innovative strategies. They may get very involved with design and implementation. Or not. . I’ve seen it both ways.
Activators are the implementers. They execute. They take the idea and make it a reality. They build it. They implement it.
Both of these changemakers are essential.
Without creation, change does not happen.
Without activation, change does not happen.
We need both to achieve the outcomes we’re searching for – more, less, better, faster, cheaper, safer, healthier, happier… and so on.
Without the ideas, activators just keep doing what they did yesterday.
Without activators, ideas don’t go anywhere.
All good changemakers have the mindset and sensibilities to be effective. But creators and activators possess some different capabilities as well.
Which one are you? Or do you have elements of both, like me?
Have a great weekend!
