Maybe this isn’t for you

When you think about all of this “leading change” stuff, you may not connect with it.

Obviously, I’m all in and I believe that being able to effectively make change happen is one of the most important skill sets for every aspiring leader.

But if you’re unsure, here’s a quick self quiz to see where you stand:

Do you care about how your ideas for new things affect the people in your team?

If not, this might not be for you.

Do you care if your people are successful?

If not, this might not be for you.

Do you put a lot of effort or time into the development of your people?

If not, this might not be for you.

Do you believe there’s a difference between a leader and manager?

If not, this might not be for you.

To make change happen, you need to care about the people affected and you need to lead.

Are you driven by results?

Do you hate to waste resources?

Are you adaptable to change?

You also need to care about outcomes, resources, and be adaptable.

Do you want to level up your own capabilities and grow your career?

If you answered no to the quiz above, this might not be for you.

It doesn’t mean your organization doesn’t need leaders who answer yes to those sorts of questions, it just means you’re probably not one of them.

But if you answered yes to any of them, it just might be something that IS for you.

Have a great weekend!
