Involvement Matters

Involvement creates commitment.

Force kills it.

Those words from a post today by Corporate Rebels. And this image.

This is relatable to anyone like me, who spends most of their time in this space.

It’s also relatable to the millions of people who have felt the force of someone else’s decisions.

Now don’t get me wrong.

I don’t think this is about who gets to make decisions.

It’s about how those people go about trying to make them a reality in their organization.

As humans, we don’t love uncertainty.

We don’t love feeling helpless either.

And we also don’t much care for being forced to do something, even if it may turn out to be a good thing.

So as leaders, here are three tips for leveling up your ability to make change happen:

  • Eliminate uncertainty.
  • Get people involved.
  • Don’t force it.

You can start here now.

Even if you still need help from outside experts with these simple steps, these are key to leading change.

Have a great day!
